Sabine Getty is the London Jewelry Designer You Should Know
Sabine Getty knows diamonds. The jewelry designer, socialite, and contributing editor at Tatler Magazine is rarely seen without dazzling diamond jewelry, but for Sabine, her relationship with diamonds runs deep.
Fresh from attending The Leopard Awards where she wore head-turning pieces by Bulgari, Sabine discusses her love for jewelry and her most meaningful diamond moments to date.
Do you have a favorite approach to styling your pieces?
I usually have a pretty clear idea of how to accessorize when I dress up because I really keep it quite simple. I like a star piece for the evening and for the day and enjoy layering smaller pieces without too much thought.
Best advice to help someone start their own diamond jewelry collection?
Keep your collection concise and strong. Being a creative I know how it’s so easy to expand on a design and come up with a million combinations but overtime I’ve understood that it’s unnecessary. I’d also add stay exclusive, not too many retailers, it will drown you!
What’s your best memory diamond memory?
I have very fond memories of my time at the gemological institute in NY when studying diamond grading. I truly enjoyed learning this incredible skill.
A secret about diamonds that only a great designer like yourself would know?
When in doubt use diamonds. I love colored stones and i use all sorts of sapphires in my designs but diamonds will always dress up a design incredibly well.
What is your favorite Bulgari piece and why?
The serpenti choker that I wore to the Leopard Awards. Snakes are such mysterious and captivating creatures, I find that all the serpenti pieces embody women in such an incredible way.
